2007
marked our first year of offering the Sacred Centers Immersion
Program and it was smashing success. Dedicated
chakra chicks and chakra chaps, came together from Europe and all over
the U.S. as teachers, therapists, bodyworkers, and coaches, for a ten-day
community of sharing and seeking that moved us all deeper and farther
along our path. It will now be a yearly event.
This program
is designed for those pursuing Certification, though it is not a requirement.
However, if you have not already done so, please familiarize yourself
with our Certification
Program before applying.
WHAT IT IS:
The Sacred Centers Immersion Experience in Northern
California is a 9-day workshop period that will offer students in the
Certification Program a chance to join together in their love
of this work, to learn from Sacred Centers teachers and
each other, and to focus on their specialization tracks, while completing
classes that are not offered during the rest of the year. These classes
need to be kept small and intimate, so are less attractive to the big
workshop centers. But here we can offer several at once, making it a memorable
event that brings us all together in one place, with common activities
each morning and evening, and focus on the smaller classes during the
day. Think of it as the Graduate School to the Sacred Centers Certification.
Courses that have been taught during the year, such as Psychology
of the Chakras, From Dream to Reality (Manifestation), or Mind-Body
Integration will not be offered during this week
to give room for other more advanced material.
(For a schedule
of the basic courses offered throughout the year, go
here)
WHERE:
This year the Immersion Program will be offered
at a lovely retreat center in Mill Valley, CA, just 40 minutes northwest
of San Francisco, at the foot of Mt. Tamalpais. Ralston-White Retreat
is a 14,000 square foot mansion, originally built as a wedding present
for Ralston’s wife in the early 1900s. (This is why it has a heart-shaped
lawn). It is situated on 43 acres of redwoods, with lovely walking trails,
pond, and garden and lots of porches and balconies. For a longer hike
you can scoot up Mt. Tamalpais, or drive to the top and get a grand view
of the whole San Francisco Bay. It is ten minutes outside of Mill Valley,
a sophisticated northern California town in Marin County.
CONTENT:
Over five different classes will be offered during the week as well as
a chance for those on the teaching track to practice their skills and
share teaching with the group, either in the early morning yoga or the
evening programs. You can come for the whole nine days or come for just
the classes you want, stay in residence, or commute locally.
CLASSES OFFERED:
Energy Awareness:
taught by Glenn Hartelius, May 2- 4, San Rafael ($295)
To make this workshop accessible to students coming in for the Immersion,
we are offering this class just prior to the Immersion at Anodea and Lion's
home in San Rafael CA. Please note, this is a separate location, and a
separate class, listed here because many students may be interested in
fulfilling this requirement.
This class
grounds the principle of Energy Healing and the chakras with potent and
advanced techniques of clearing, opening, and balancing chakras, as well
as energy hygiene for self-protection and more.
Chakra
Therapy: taught by Anodea Judith, Monday
May 5th - Thursday noon, May 8th
This course has also been called “In the Realm of the Sacred”
for it shows how to take clients into the realm of their sacred interior
where healing takes place. Using the principles taught in Psychology
of the Chakras and Techniques of Mind-Body Integration (both
pre-requisites) this course will go deeper into how to conduct a one on
one session with clients in your practice. Volunteers from the group will
get a chance for their own work within the group setting. Students will
also have an opportunity to work on each other, with Anodea’s supervision
and group participation. This class has a maximum of 12 people.
Chakrassage:
taught by Jason Auer-Sears Monday May 5th - Thursday
noon, May 8th
Chakrassage teaches chakra based techniques for bodywork practitioners.
Using breath, sound, yogassage, tissue work, and more, Jason has developed
a complete program for working with the chakras both in relation to their
physical manifestations in the tissues and organs, and their energetic
expressions of blockages. Solid knowledge of anatomy is essential. Pre-requisite,
basic bodywork training, basic chakra weekend (Seven Windows to the Soul)
or equivalent.
Sacred Centers Coaching:
taught by Lion Goodman
Monday May 5th - Thursday. noon, May 8th
Sacred
Centers Coaching teaches the use of practical skills featured in
the Manifestation class (and much more) for working one on one with clients.
Using a chakra based model you will learn techniques for clearing out
limiting beliefs, clarifying intentions, working with internal voices,
strengthening the will and creating practical structures for helping you
-- and your clients -- achieve success.
Guiding
the Journey: taught by Selene
Vega Thursday 2 pm May 8- Sunday May 11
Selene, who has taught with Anodea for over 20 years, covers a lot of
ground in this workshop. Guiding the Journey is primarily about
guiding hypnotherapeutic trance journeys, but also includes movement,
group dynamics and creating sacred space as experienced each day in the
Psychology of
Chakras. You will gain the tools necessary to begin guiding your
own trances, either with a private client or a group, and learn the ethics,
principles, dangers, and techniques necessary to do so. A balance between
inner and outer work will provide opportunities for participants to deepen
their own process while learning to guide others.
This class is required for those in the teacher track but useful to all
students.
Pre-requisite: the 7 or 9 day Psychology of the Chakras, or previous
familiarity with trance and hypnosis.
(Psychology of the Chakras will be offered in March, July, and
August 2008)
Advanced Chakra Yoga:
taught by Anodea Judith and Danielle Hougard
Monday May 12- Tuesday May 13
This class focuses specifically on Anodea's use of bioenergetic techniques
with yoga postures for each chakra and the Anusara principles of alignment
for asana practice. Class will also include teaching on pranayama, and
other aspects related to teaching Sacred Centers material as needed. This
class is required for those in the teaching track, but open to anyone
with sufficient yoga experience. It is not about advanced poses, but advanced
teaching techniques related to the chakras.
